Summary of project activities and outcomes:

The objective of the project was to provide institutional support of SALWACO, the main urban water utility in Sierra Leone, alongside infrastructural rehabilitation and improvement in the three regional towns of Bo, Kenema and Makeni. Along with TREND a consultancy company from Ghana, we provided professional support to the Management, Commercialisation Study and Local Functional Training component of the Three Towns Water Supply and Sanitation Project for SALWACO, the main water and sanitation utility in Sierra Leone. The specific roles of WEDC were to provide support for: the development of an institutional reform plan and human resources management reforms and conducting the consumer enumeration study, as well as associated workshop training.
