Summary of project activities and outcomes:

The purpose of this project is to develop a comprehensive library of 350 high quality prototype illustrations for IFRC, covering different aspects of rescue, health and care work. The illustrations are being used widely in IFRC training manuals and field education and communication resource packs and are designed so that they can be adapted to reflect local contexts in the event of future natural and man-made disasters and emergencies, and during disease epidemics. The project draws on research undertaken by WEDC for the World Health Organization and UNICEF on the importance and nature of clear and relevant illustrations for training and communication in developing countries.
