Description

Under a project funded by the ACP-EU Water Facility, water and sanitation monitoring platforms have been established in three African countries: Nigeria, Ghana and Mozambique. The platforms will generate and disseminate at regular intervals sector specific data and information to orient policy and decision-making and to provide an indication on the progress of the country towards the achievement of the MDG targets on drinking water and sanitation. The platforms will operate on a consultative basis involving a large array of stakeholders at national and sub-national level.

WEDC provides the country mentor for Ghana and:

  • Communication strategy development and implementation backstopping
  • Provides quality assurance through peer review for all key products produced by the platform;
  • Provides ongoing strategic inputs and support for the platform's operations;
  • Provides inputs and support for the management of the overall project including internal monitoring at country level
