Specific locationUNICEF Country Office, Freetown DescriptionTo undertake the role of UNICEF focal point during the design of a new DFID supported rural water, sanitation and hygiene programme within the UNICEF Sierra Leone country programme 2008-2010. The role involved driving the preparation of the programme proposal to its successful submission; taking an active role in the process; monitoring all progress; investigating partnership options for implementation; and advising the UNICEF Country Office of the things that needed to be in place to facilitate the programme's launch in early 2008. In the context of the above outputs also included:
Deployment of a senior WES professional familiar with UNICEF's mandate including how UNICEF approaches programming and what is possible in a country undergoing transition. All technical expertise in support of the Terms of Reference and Quality Assurance of outputs. Professional and technical support to UNICEF Country Office WES staff. |
