The WEDC team is multi-disciplinary, comprising academic, professional and support staff. In addition, we call on the services of associates with specialist expertise who work regularly with us.
We have extensive experience of low- and middle-income countries, facing challenges with solutions that have been proven to work. We update our work continually by new assignments. Many of us have worked professionally in developing countries for government departments, local government, international agencies, non-governmental organizations, and consultants.

Amaka Obika-Godfrey is a specialist in hygiene and sanitation promotion with particular interests in peri-urban sanitation. She also specialises in total sanitation and sanitation marketing approaches including particitory approaches and overall sanitation programming. She conducted her PhD reserach on small independent providers of sanitation in peri-urban settlements. She is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Public Health, UK. Assignments include building capacity to implement sanitation marketing and community led total sanitation, building capacity to incorporate Environmental Health into Health Care Management and Planning in India through Village Hygiene and Sanitation Plans and a ground breaking research programme focusing on social marketing for urban sanitation in Africa. She has also worked in rural water supply and sanitation projects specialising in community participation and management approaches.
